The LeBoeuf Pen Company celebrates the life of Walt Whitman, with this stunning Limited Edition fountain pen and rollerball.

Walt Whitman was born was born May 31st, 1819, He is considered by many to be the greatest of all American poets, Whitman celebrated the freedom and dignity of the individual and sang the praises of democracy and the brotherhood of man. His Leaves of Grass is recognized as the most influential volume of poems in the history of American literature.

In 1855 Whitman published at his own expense, a volume of 12 poems, Leaves of Grass, which he had begun working on in 1847. Reviewers recognized the appearance of a bold new voice in poetry. From 1862 to 1865, Whitman’s poetry of the Civil War, Drum-Taps (1865), reissued with Sequel to Drum-Taps (1865-66), included his two poems about Abraham Lincoln, “When Lilacs Last in the Dooryard Bloom’d,” is considered one of the finest elegies in the English language. His last book, November Boughs, appeared in 1888. Walt Whitman died on March 26th, 1892. His legacy as America’s greatest poet is cemented in the annals of American literature.

The LeBoeuf Walt Whitman Limited Edition was created using an exclusive Forest Green/ Cerulean Blue Marble acrylic material chosen to conjure up the themes of Whitman’s most famous book of poetry, Leaves of Grass. The shimmering luster created by these combined two colors is quite stunning.

Each barrel is engraved with Walt Whitman’s famous signature in gold paint. A gold-plated embossed coin featuring a portrait of Walt Whitman has been carefully placed atop each cap. A gold-plated clip and band enhance the elegance of this very special pen.

The Walt Whitman Limited Edition is available as both a fountain pen and rollerball. The fountain pen features a German 14k gold-plated nib in either fine or medium point. It utilizes a cartridge/convertor filling system. The rollerball uses a common International refill.

Each pen is packaged in a special commemorative Walt Whitman box which also features Walt Whitman’s famous signature.
