Central to The Odyssey is the sea itself — vast, unpredictable, and symbolic of life’s trials. Homer famously described the ocean as the “wine-dark sea,” a phrase that has captivated readers and scholars for centuries.

To capture this poetic imagery, LeBoeuf commissioned a custom acrylic resin, created exclusively for this edition. The barrel blends deep maritime blues with rich wine-colored currents that swirl together like waves beneath a twilight sky. Each barrel is individually turned and polished, ensuring that every pen possesses a unique pattern.

Engraved upon each cap is a meticulously detailed ancient Greek ship, inspired by historical depictions of the vessels described in the Odyssey. Encircling the cap are finely engraved Greek swords, symbolizing the heroic struggles woven throughout Odysseus’ story.  Together, these elements transform the cap into a narrative canvas, telling the story of endurance through artistry.

At the summit of the pen rests a gold-plated coin embedded into the top of the cap, portraying Odysseus — the legendary archer and hero of the Odyssey.
