Montegrappa’s first model to be designated under their new Vintage Class is Brenta – it has just hit the U.S. and we’re excited to present it.
Brenta is also the name of the river that flows beneath the landmark Ponte Vecchio bridge and past Montegrappa’s historic headquarters. The 104 mile stretch of water that connects Trento, Bassano, Padua and Venice to the Adriatic Sea has a history intertwined with Venetian trade and aristocracy. The river’s elegant, gentle flow is evoked in the seductive soft facets of Brenta’s silhouette. Magnificent.
The design takes inspiration from a rare 1930s Extra model housed in Montegrappa’s museum. Brenta’s most distinctive feature is its all-over wave-formation relief – an effect that demonstrates the highly technical sophistication of Montegrappa’s pre-war factory. Indeed, this glistening briolette shaping would be barely possible today without the aid of advanced CNC machining.
Brenta is carved from resin and uses thin line stainless steel – most visibly on the cigar-style triple cap band. The cap features Montegrappa’s classic contour clip with ruzzolino clamp. Confidence inspiring.
The fountain pen is available in extra fine, fine, medium and broad. It fills via cartridge and includes and ink converter for bottle usage. The rollerball takes a standard international size. We have significant choices available to customize your rollerball. The Vintage Class Brenta is shipped in an impressive new box. Great for gift giving.
