Monteverde was inspired by the shape of the fuselage of the magnificent Douglas C-47 Skytrain, also known as Dakota, which played a pivotal role during World War II. The Dakota Collection pays homage to the 80th anniversary of the end of this historic conflict on September 2, 1945.

Breaking the Mold Again Monteverde introduced the Dakota in a traditional fountain pen featuring a proven high quality JoWo #5 nib. Nib choices are extra fine, fine and medium. It uses cartridges or can be filled with the included ink converter. The feed and nib deliver a pleasurable consistent experience as would be expected.
Military Green brings a sense of rugged reliability and adventurous spirit to the Dakota collection. The matte green finish is inspired by the tough, no-nonsense appearance of military equipment, embodying a sense of resilience and practicality. The green finish is reminiscent of the olive drab paint used to camouflage these aircraft, helping them blend into their surroundings and protect them from enemy fire.
