Take a Step Up
The rousing success of the Visconti “Comedia” collection has called for a new step up on the podium. Two more characters from Dante Alighieri’s Divine Comedy are featured in breathtaking colors and design. Virgilio, the venerable poet and guide was known for a white flowing tunic and crown of laurel. His premium edition features bright yellow gold trim on a refined acrylic resin body in shades of ivory. The Caronte model is a stormy dark gray-blue resin swirl trimmed in moody ruthenium. Both are stunning enhancements to this popular series of fountain pens, rollerballs and ballpoints. Each new version is limited to 999 pieces.
Dante Alighieri was born in 1265 in Florence and is considered to be the greatest Italian poet who has ever lived. He is also known as the father of the Italian language as we know it. His most important work "Comedia" later known as the Divine Comedy, (Divina Comedia), is a masterpiece of world literature that explores the afterlife through three realms: Hell (Inferno), Purgatory (Purgatorio) and Heaven (Paradiso). Those pen themes are still available in limited quantities for all writing modes.
These new characters in the Visconti "Comedia" collection, Caronte (Charon) and Virgilio (Virgil), were ferryman and guide in Dante’s journey. Through stormy seas and sights depicted in famous works of art, these aides helped Dante reach his destination. They are honored on each pen’s hammered center ring as all friends and mentors should be.
The Comedia fountain pen features Visconti's large steel nib that is plated to match the trims, fine, medium or broad sizes. You may use a cartridge or the included ink converter for bottle ink.
Please note! No two Visconti Comedia pens are alike. Each is made from a custom resin with unique flows of color. Every piece has a totally different display of the wonderful colors. With the new collection comes a unique box that features a silhouette of Dante Alighieri to honor the Italian poet.
