Visconti continues its journey of celebrating the great innovators and scientists of the past, paying tribute to one of the most visionary minds in history: Nikola Tesla. A limited edition collection of just 88 pieces, this creation merges art, science, and avantgarde technology.
Inventor, physicist, and world-renowned engineer, Tesla revolutionized the very concept of energy, paving the way for alternating current, wireless transmission, and the technologies that define the modern world. The design of the collection is inspired by Tesla's famous coils-devices capable of generating spectacular plasma discharges resembling lightning bolts. The barrel and cap, with their distinctive cylindrical shape ending in a toroid, are crafted from fluorescent blue resin and intricately detailed to recreate miniature lightning strikes that evoke the discharges produced by the original coils.
The body is adorned with the raised inscriptions by the raised inscriptions "Tesla" and "Visconti," enameled in lime green, which stands out elegantly against a surface of metallic purple enamel, creating refined contrasts.
Inside the cap's toroid is a transparent acrylic disc engraved with Visconti's "V", appearing suspended in mid-air-a poetic homage to the physical forces Tesla strove to make visible. Three rose gold-plated rings, finely crafted to resemble copper coil windings, punctuate the pen's body with perfect symmetry: one at the center, two at the ends.
The fountain pen is equipped with an 18k rose gold-plated nib and Visconti's patented Power Filler filling system. Visconti’s 18k nib is a dream to use and very expressive in its flexibility.
What truly makes this collection iconic is the special presentation box, inspired by Tesla's famous tower. Thanks to the pen's hollow structure and the design of the toroids, a light projected from the stand activates the resin's fluorescence, making the engraved lightning bolts glow in a vivid ice blue. The result is a breathtaking effect: the pen appears to be crossed by electric discharges, as if it were truly energized by the power Tesla once dreamed of releasing into the world.
