Collection: LeBoeuf Icon Frederick Douglas Limited Edition

American Civil Rights Hero

The LeBoeuf Pen Company proudly honors Frederick Douglass, the father of the Civil Rights movement in the United States, with this stunning Limited Edition fountain pen and rollerball.

Frederick Douglas was the most important leader for African American civil rights in the 19th century. After escaping from slavery in Maryland, Douglass became a national leader of the abolitionist movement in Massachusetts and New York, during which time, he gained fame for his oratory and incisive antislavery writings.

In his journey from an enslaved young man to internationally renowned activist, Frederick Douglass has been a source of inspiration and hope for millions. His brilliant words and brave actions continue to shape the ways in which we think about race, democracy, and the meaning of freedom. We’d strongly encourage you to see the wiki page on Douglass.

Each Frederick Douglas Limited Edition pen is made using an exclusive Smoke Gray and Lilac marble acrylic. The Lilac flakes represent the official flower of Rochester, New York, where Douglas lived for the remainder of his life after his freedom was purchased by abolitionists. Each pen barrel has been carefully polished and features an engraved Frederick Douglas signature.  A gold commutative coin featuring a Frederick Douglas portrait has been fitted onto the top of each cap.

The Frederick Douglas Limited Edition features a German gold plated steel nib featuring the LeBoeuf logo and utilizes a cartridge/convertor filling system.  A rollerball version is also available which uses our most common rollerball refill. Each pen model is limited to 150 pens worldwide.

The LeBoeuf Frederick Douglas Limited Edition is a fitting tribute to a true American hero who spent his life fighting to end slavery and advance equality for all regardless of race, gender, or religion.
